Recently

Hello there faithful reader, how've you been? Me? oh, well I have been growing and shrinking, trying and doing.

I've met some pretty incredible people recently who, as I've discovered only in passing, have figured out this life thing and I discovered, upon reflection, that I was missing these people before due to the distracting nature of what I call Bright Shiny Things. Cool toys or cars or jobs or breasts or smiles or computers or wit or drinks or flirt or music or dreams or travel plans or travel pasts or money schemes or get-rich scams... any and all of these things were what I was seeing when people were kinda secondary. Hell, I was secondary.

Anyway, I'm working on becoming primary and I'm seeing people a little better. My patience for many is shot but my eyes for the few are locked. Those for whom life is good no matter the mud and blood are coming out of the woodwork and Hallelujah it's what I had too few of in the city. I've been blessed with ...oh a handful of these people and appreciated each one (if not enough) but now that I'm working on me these new people are helping me see the next step before me. I don't mean to say I'm making lots of new friends 'cause it's not about that: most of these people I'm never going to see again.

This is turning into a nonsense ramble but I wanted get something up on the page again. I'm typing this post from bed on my new, big, heavy, beautiful laptop - which arrived with a dented front edge and hairline crack just above the webcam. I'm taking advantage of playing with it before I take it in for replacement today.

I recommend you all check out Tom Petty's new band, Mudcrutch (mudcrutchmusic.com). I also recommend that you check this out: http://www.themorningnews.org/archives/awards/2008_editors_awards_for_online_excellence.php
if for no other reason than the very last entry in the list on Zappos.

Oh, and go watch Iron Man. If nothing else it'll have you saying I heart RDJ, again.
.
